PTFE (TFE) and PVDF both are in short supply.

PTFE - Polytetrafluoroethylene  product PTFE (TFE) and PVDF  manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar that is mined in Mongolia and China. The world demand for this mineral has increased significantly, along with the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance and extremely low co-efficient of friction (slick) and is used within tons of purposes from non-stick fry griddles to ptfe tape for personal use. This particular mineral is the essential raw materials in the production of fluoropolymers, fluorolubricants and quite a few refrigerants. This rise in demand coupled with shortage of raw materials has caused a dramatic price increase (almost double throughout the last year), shortages, and we expect these two factors to stay in affect in the near future.
